Del Norte Credit Union LOV Initiatives
Del Norte Credit Union "Living Our Vision" initiatives means that we are giving back to our communities. Our vision is to improve lives of the youth and their families in New Mexico.
Living Our Vision means uplifting our communities.
At Del Norte Credit Union, we believe in giving back in meaningful ways that strengthen the lives of youth and families across New Mexico. Through our Del Norte Credit Union Living Our Vision (LOV) initiatives, we proudly support local nonprofits and community partners working to make a positive and lasting impact.
As part of this commitment, DNCU offers event sponsorships and programmatic support to organizations whose missions align with our vision of creating a world where every New Mexican can thrive.
Financial Literacy Program
We’re committed to improving lives by empowering New Mexicans—youth, families, and community members—with the tools to make confident financial decisions. Our Financial Literacy Program brings trusted national resources to a local level, helping build stronger financial futures across New Mexico.
Recent Workshops
- Santa Fe High School
We supported more than 180 senior students with guidance on the 50/30/20 budgeting rule, building credit, and the benefits of DNCU Youth Accounts as they prepare for life after graduation. - Chicanos Por La Causa
We met with 10 teens in Española to discuss the difference between credit unions and banks, how car loans work, and how to make informed financial choices.
High Quality Financial Wellness Resources
We combine trusted national programs with local support, including:
- GreenPath Financial Wellness — personalized tools and guidance for budgeting, debt management, credit building, and long-term planning.
- Banzai! Schools — an award-winning interactive curriculum platform that DNCU sponsors for schools across New Mexico, offering financial education aligned with New Mexico learning standards.
- Banzai! Direct — free, self-guided financial wellness tools available for any life stage to all community members.
Community Outreach
We engage youth, families, educators, and organizations through:
- Classroom presentations and workshops
- Youth events, field trips, and tabling at community events
- Bilingual read-alouds during Youth Financial Literacy Month
- Support for teachers and organization partners
For example, we have an ongoing collaboration with College and Career Plaza, and we tabled at their Santa Fe Indian School Opportunities Fair, where we provided financial wellness resources and DNCU Youth Account information to Native youth.
