Del Norte LOV Foundation 2023 Scholarship Recipients
Santa Fe, New Mexico, June 2, 2023 – The Del Norte LOV (Living Our Vision) Foundation, an independent 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization associated with Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU), has announced the names of ten recipients of its annual Del Norte LOV Foundation Scholarship Program for 2023. A total of $16,000 will be distributed among the recipients and may be applied toward first semester costs this fall at a college or vocational school of the student’s choice.
“In keeping with the Del Norte LOV Foundation’s mission of improving lives of youth in New Mexico, our annual scholarship program is an important way that we contribute to fulfilling the potential of amazing young people in New Mexico,” explained Connie Tooker Nuñez, Del Norte LOV Foundation Director.
Scholarships are available to any current DNCU member who is a graduating senior, homeschool or GED student attending an accredited vocational school, college or university for the upcoming school year. Winners are chosen based on academic record, work experience, statement of goals and demonstrated leadership in schools and communities. Scholarship Management Services is responsible for selection of scholarship recipients.
“In a time where it feels as though everything costs more, it’s critical that local financial cooperatives like ours play a role in alleviating some of the expenses associated with higher education,” explained Chuck Valenti, CEO/President of DNCU. “Identifying students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to academic studies and empowering them is a key part of our strategy of serving as an ideal partner for a better future.”
